THE LOCALE | Kokomo's Bar & Grille
THE LOWDOWN | A new bar geared towards college kids just opened in Conway. It's called Kokomo's Bar & Grille and that's where we went for happy hour this week.
Kokomo's Bar & Grille is located on S.C. 544 near Coastal Carolina University where the Might As Well bar used to be located. You'll find college students crowding into this new locale creating a high energy crazy atmosphere. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there's a DJ with no cover charge (ages 21 and older).
Kokomo's Bar & Grille has a beachy surf decor with colorful surfboards and bamboo sticks that wallpaper the walls. The inside is large with a long bar, high-top tables and lots of standing room on the shiny blue floors. The
establishment has three pool tables, darts and games such as Power Putt, Golden Tee and Dragon Punch boxing. There's also an outdoor area that should soon have a Tiki bar, volleyball pit, horse shoes and corn hole.
Happy hour starts at 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Drink deals include $2 well drinks, $2 domestic bottles and $9 buy-one-get-one Bud Light pitchers. You can also get buy-one-get-one appetizers such as fried pickles, mozzarella sticks and southwest chicken egg rolls. Every Tuesday is Two for Tuesdays and you can get
anything on the menu two-for-one. On Wednesdays you can snag 50-cent wings.
TIPS | Starting in May Kokomo's Bar & Grille will have pig roasts on Sundays. Keep your eye out for a shot wheel for specials on shots.
