Horry County Fire Rescue divers search a pond on Hulls Island Road in the Longs community. By 12:30 p.m., two bodies and a vehicle were removed from the irrigation pond. Capt. Mark Nugget, spokesperson for Horry County Fire Rescue, said crews were called to the scene around 2:30 a.m. after a report of a car in the pond. The search resumed around 11 a.m. Saturday. A man who lives near the pond said he heard a noise and looked to see a car sinking in the pond. He said he did not see any one coming out of the pond. The man, who asked not to be identified, said the pond is spring-fed and used to irrigate nearby fields. The pond’s depth graduates from around 10 to 12 feet at the end where the bodies and vehicle were found and as deep as 18 feet.
