The Family Justice Center of Georgetown County has received a $15,000 grant from the Heritage Classic Foundation, according to a news release.
The grant was awarded by the Verizon Foundation and goes to non-profits focusing on education, literacy, safety & health. The Family Justice Center of Georgetown County plans to use these funds to provide the community and victims of familial and intimate partner violence with comprehensive coordinated services and educational programs.
“We are very grateful to the Verizon Foundation and the Heritage Classic Foundation for their generous grant which will enable the FJC to continue providing co-located services to victims of familial violence,” said Alicia Barnes, board chair. “It is heartening to see companies step forward with financial assistance for worthy causes during times of economic turmoil.”
