Myrtle Beach police plan to arrest a 29-year-old man on charges he choked his estranged wife and held a handgun to her neck, according to a police report.
Officers were called at 11:30 a.m. Friday to a home in the 6300 block of Wildwood Drive after a 29-year-old woman told police the man came into the house, grabbed her by the throat and choked her while she was in the bathtub, police said.
The woman said the man pulled her by the neck from the bathtub and held a handgun to her neck during the incident, according to the report. The woman said the man left the bathroom and she grabbed a towel and went into the living room.
The woman said the man grabbed her and choked her again in the living room before another woman walked into the room, according to the report. The man ran out of the house, but dropped the gun into a nearby trash can. Police seized the gun.
The woman also said the man’s girlfriend has called her several times since the couple separated, according to the report. The couple have been married for 11 years. Police searched for the man in the area, but did not locate him.
