Horry County police are investigating a report that a Virginia woman was brought to the area and sexually assaulted by seven men and one woman, according to a police report.
The 21-year-old woman told police that Friday a man she knows from Virginia gave her $100 to ride with him to look at a club in North Carolina, according to the report. The woman said the 30-year-old man took her to a club in Longs where she had a few drinks before he took her to a house in the area.
The woman said she was sexually assaulted by the men and the men forced the other woman to sexually assault her as well, according to the report. The woman told police she tried to escape from the men several times, but was not allowed to leave and was threatened.
The woman said the men forced her to go to another house located in Myrtle Beach where she was sexually assaulted again, according to the report. At that time the woman said she was able to use her telephone to call her sister to give her information about where she was being held.
The woman’s 38-year-old sister called police and an officer found the woman and she was treated at an area hospital, according to the report. The woman also told police the suspects assaulted another man during the incident.
Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler said detectives are investigating the incident and additional details were not immediately available on Tuesday.
