I use great aids in helping my students perfect their chipping strokes: alignment sticks. I run rubber bands up both arms up and over the shoulders. I then run one of the sticks under the rubber bands so the stick will be between the shoulder and rubber band. I run another rubber band up each arm and have it just above the elbows. I run the other stick under the rubber band. It is now between my biceps and rubber band. Getting into my address position I will make some rehearsal swings. The goal here is to make the sticks work together. This gets your shoulders and arms controlling the stroke. Once you get the feeling try it hitting some chips with a ball. You will find that this is one of the best ways to work on the chipping stoke.
