At Greg Norman’s, your dining experience doesn’t just begin when you sit down for dinner – it begins when you walk in the door. Maître d’ Jonathan Metts has been greeting and seating diners at Greg Norman’s since 2000; his service epitomizes the excellence for which Greg Norman’s Australian Grille is known. Jonathan says he loves the opportunity to make everyone who enters the restaurant happy and start the dining experience right.
Originally from Columbia, Jonathan moved to Myrtle Beach in 1998 with his wife, Heather, as she joined the family business at Sunny Cleaners. “Where she goes, I go,” says Jonathan with a chuckle. When Jonathan isn’t working at the restaurant or helping at Sunny Cleaners in Carolina Forest, he enjoys every minute of his free time with their son, Aidan, 3. “He’s teaching me about dinosaurs right now,” laughs Jonathan. When the weather is warm, Jonathan also loves fishing, canoeing and baseball.
Jonathan’s favorite part of his job is the interaction with so many people. “I’ve built some good relationships with lots of people; we have a busy restaurant.”
Jonathan also highlights the good camaraderie at the restaurant and says, “Greg Norman is a great boss.”
