What in your experience has most prepared you for this office? Why? The clerk serves as Judge of probate and special proceeding matters. I am a certified arbitrator judge and thus uniquely qualified to fulfill this function. I work closely with all those involved in the court system including the judges, lawyers, case workers with the Department of Social Services and Juvenile Justice. I have been selected to serve on committees to improve different areas of the court system, including the performances of the clerks. How do you gauge the will of the people? My fellow attorneys, clients and the Brunswick County citizens have already informed me of their desire to receive professional, friendly and efficient service. It is their will that Clerks will be hired based on their skill and not nepotism. All dress will be professional. Policy will provide phones be answered promptly and voiced mail to receive messages that will be returned quickly. The public will have correct answers to questions, even if it means conducting research.
