Callaway debuts Diablo irons
Callaway Diablo Edge Irons are available as of Jan. 15 and Diablo Forged Irons will be available Feb. 15. They target two distinct player types and are engineered for distance and accuracy. Designed with a lower, deeper center of gravity, Diablo Edge Irons feature a more accessible sweet spot placed where most amateurs commonly hit the ball. The result is longer, consistent distance and improved accuracy. The Solid Impact Sole delivers smooth turf interaction and is designed to mitigate the effects of heavy and thin shots.
The Diablo Forged Irons feature a sleek and compact head style. With a thin top line, narrow sole, shorter blade length and minimal offset, they provide premium shot-shaping ability. Callaway says they are configured for greater distance than other forged irons due to a lower, deeper center of gravity that provides a penetrating trajectory. The forged steel, perimeter-weighted body and precision-welded face provide soft, responsive feedback. The Diablo Forged irons have introductory retail prices of $999 for steel shafts and $1,199 for graphite shafts, and the Diablo Edge Irons retail for $599 with steel shafts. The Edge irons are also available in combo sets. Six steel-shafted irons and two graphite-shafted Diablo Edge Hybrids are $699, and six graphite-shafted irons with two graphite-shafted hybrids are $799.
