Weekly golf tip with Brad Redding (May 23)

To have a good grip in golf, you need to have mobility in your wrists and forearms while at the same time having strength in your fingers. I have found that most people as they age lose this ability to hinge their wrist due to tight forearms. This stretch will loosen up your wrists and at the same time show you how the wrists affect your grip. Take both hands and place the palms onto a wall. Make sure the fingers are together and turned at a 45 degree angle down. Gently push the palm as close as you can without extreme pain and hold for 15 seconds. Move your hands away and shake them. Continue to do this hold and shake for three repetitions and you will see that it gets easier to get your palms onto the wall. Speed in the golf swing comes from wrist cock. This stretch will go miles in producing the same result in your shots.
