On the Fly for Dec. 13, 2012

You’ve heard of Sanford & Son, and fauxlk rock sensation Mumford & Sons, but what about Cranford & Sons? Like Mumford, there really is a Cranford in this Hilton Head-based Americana/Celtic/rockabilly quartet which looks to do some Lowcountry stomping Saturday at Pirate’s Cove Lounge. The foursome, led by band namesake John Cranford on vocals and guitar, lists its influences on its Facebook page as “June Carter, Robert Johnson, Mark O’Connor, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Megafaun, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Alasdair Fraser.” Show time is 10 p.m. There is no cover charge. Pirate’s Cove is at 205 Main Street, North Myrtle Beach. Call 249-8942 or visit www.piratescovelounge.com.
