On the Fly for Nov. 29, 2012

Spin some yarn Thursday with Big Apple-based Americana/alt-country outfit Yarn laying down acousti-grooves at Pirates Cove Lounge. The band, led by singer/songwriter Blake Christiana, has six independent records under its belt, including the recently released “Leftovers, Vol. 2.” Yarn’s sound is somewhere between the alt-country leanings of Wilco and Sun Volt, the country folk rock of Gram Parsons and bluegrass influences of Earl Scruggs. Show time is at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge. Pirate’s Cove Lounge is at 205 Main St., North Myrtle Beach. For more information, visit www.piratescovelounge.com or call 249-8942.
