On the Fly for Nov. 22, 2012

It’s a Thanksgiving tradition as firmly ensconced as mini-golf, tourists’ mullets and Calabash seafood buffets as the 43rd annual S.C. State Bluegrass Festival returns to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center from Thursday through Saturday, boasting a lineup of more than 15 acts, including legendary band leader Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys (7:30 p.m. Saturday) and Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver (2:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Friday). The festival starts at 1 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Ticketing is a little bit tricky, so we’re going to quote directly from the festival’s press release: “Reserved Seat Tickets: Reserved Individual Adult $40 Per Day (Thursday, Friday or Saturday). Children 7-15 $25 Per Day; 3 day Reserved Adult $95, Children $50.--General Admission Tickets: Individual Adult $35 Per Day, Children $20 Per Day, 3 day Adult General Admission $85, Children $45 for General Admission and under 6 free with parents.” OK, so if you order your tickets online – at www.adamsandandersonbluegrass.com - they’ll be waiting for you at will call at the convention center. Myrtle Beach Convention Center is at 2101 N. Oak Street, Myrtle Beach. For more information, call 706 864-7203 or 918-1225, and to see the full festival line-up go the aforementioned Web site.
