History series at library
The “Remembering Myrtle Beach: A Local History Series,” with guest speakers on the first and third Saturdays monthly, continues with brothers Marc, Frank and David Smith recounting their growing up after their family’s relocation in 1950 and their father, J. Art for Black History Month
The Cultural Council of Georgetown County will celebrate Black History Month with an art exhibit all month, starting with an opening reception 6-8 p.m. Saturday. Featured artists are Lillian Cotton, Alan Dennison, Rachel Jones, Darien Greene, Alexis Washington and Zenobia Washington. Also, local writer Steven Williams will read some of his original poetry.
