Beach Ball Classic
Milton wasn’t one of the more ballyhooed teams entering the Beach Ball Classic. There were three teams ranked in the top 35 in the nation by ESPN, and two teams that had recently dropped out of the top 35. Milton wasn’t any of those.
Bishop Gorman (Nev.) phenom Shabazz Muhammad, considered by many scouting services to be the top prospect in the country, was named Most Outstanding Player of the Beach Ball Classic.
The Bishop Gorman (Nev.) team that was drubbed in Friday night’s semifinals was not the same team Whitney Young (Ill.) was tasked with trying to stop in Saturday’s third-place game.
