Planning group presents plans for a new-look Georgetown

A 10-member professional planners group from the Urban Land Institute presented a vision for the future to elected officials, community leaders, residents and interested stakeholders gathered at Winyah Auditorium on Friday, giving a first look at its idea for the 150-acre waterfront site that houses the closed ArcelorMittal – Georgetown steel mill, the port of Georgetown and the adjacent area.

Arnold Palmer dies at 87, made golf popular for masses

Arnold Palmer brought a country club sport to the masses with a hard-charging style, charisma and a commoner's touch. At ease with both presidents and the golfing public, and on a first-name basis with both, "The King" died Sunday in Pittsburgh. He was 87.
