Finishing touches, furniture put into new home

Thursday night will be the first night Renee Wilson and her four grandchildren spend in their new "Extreme Makeover" home: a house nearly eight times bigger than the trailer the family shared for more than two years.

Family's miracle unfolds

Renee Wilson, surrounded by her four grandchildren and other relatives and friends, wept, giggled and praised God on Sunday night from the sofa of her new home while watching "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

Community's gifts overwhelm family

It was a day of more gift-giving for the Wilson family, who spent Friday doing wrap-up interviews and shooting scenes inside their new home with the production crew of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

ABOUT THE FAMILY

Derrick Suggs, 28, and his wife Amanda, 26, live on Cane Branch Road just outside of Loris. The couple adopted Amanda's younger siblings - James, 19, Jacob, 17, Jordan, 10, Walker, 5, and Mason, 9 months - to keep them out of foster care. The family's home was built by Derrick's grandfather in 1953. It has a leaking roof, outdated and exposed electrical wiring, rotting foundation, and broken and cracked asbestos siding outside of the house.
