Newsmakers | Two area students win at HOSA leadership conference

Two Health Occupation Students of America from the Academy for Technology and Academics won awards at the National Leadership Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., on June 28.

First-place competition winners include Bridgette Blanton for Outstanding HOSA Chapter and National Recognition for Jessica Hodges for National Service Project.

This year’s National Conference was attended by more than 8,400 competitors from over the continental United States, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

HOSA advisers at the Academy for Technology and Academics are Jeana Carroll, Janet Hodge and Dr. Teresa Nirenstein.
