A 69-year-old employee of a Conway department store told police he was robbed of money that belonged to the business as he left for the evening, according to a police report.

The victim called officers at 9:30 p.m. Friday to the parking lot of Maxway at 1504 Fourth Ave., to report he had been robbed of two money bags from the store, police said.

The victim said he had closed the store and was walking to his vehicle when a man ran up behind him, pushed him to the ground and took two of the three money bags he was carrying in an empty pizza box, according to the report. The victim fell to the ground and hit his head.

The victim was bleeding and officers found a large pool of blood on the ground, according to the report. EMS took the victim to Conway Medical Center for treatment.

It was unclear how much money was taken during the robbery and a clear description of the suspect was not listed in the report.
