Myrtle Beach woman offers cigarette, gets slapped and punched by man

A 45-year-old Myrtle Beach woman told police she was slapped and punched by a man after she offered him a cigarette.

Myrtle Beach Police were called shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday to the 600 block of South Kings Highway regarding the assault.

The woman said she was sitting on a bench with the man when she offered him a cigarette several times. The two began arguing expletives back and forth until the man started slapping and punching her face and arms, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

The woman ran next door to call police. The report states the man and woman have had a history of reports to police regarding abuse.
