Two movies for free

See a movie for free in two proximate Myrtle Beach sites near The Market Common:

• For adults and seniors: “Gravity,” starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and rated PG-13, 3 p.m. in Myrtle Beach Base Recreation Center, 800 Gabreski Lane. Details at 918-2380.

• “A Bug’s Life,” from 1998, at dusk, about 9 p.m. in Myrtle Beach’s Valor Memorial Garden, on Farrow Parkway. 839-3500 or www.marketcommonmb.com.

Band plays in gardens

“Cool Summer Evenings” continue, with extended hours Wednesdays-Fridays through Aug. 8, including “Concerts on the Lawn” on Fridays, with the Travis Allison Band on this evening. Details at 235-6000, 800-849-1931 or www.brookgreen.org.
