Free tax workshop available for new small-business owners

A free tax workshop for prospective and newly established small-business owners is being held by the Myrtle Beach Area Small Business Development Center July 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Preregistration is required. The event will be held at Atlantic Hall, 642 Century Circle in Conway on Coastal Carolina University’s east campus.

Presentations will be led by representatives from the Internal Revenue Service, the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce, and the S.C. Department of Revenue. Each will last between two and four hours and will explore topics such as business tax requirements, employment taxes, form 941, employer’s quarterly federal tax return, tax liability, wage reports, registering business in South Carolina and withholding tax.
