WHITE, STEVEN KELLY - CHARGES NOT LISTED

Re: News article June 7, “Local doctor arrested after gun found in carry-on bag at airport”

The arrest of Dr. Steven White for exercising his natural right of self defense, and the deliberate restricting of a person’s right of self defense is, and should be a crime. Dr. White’s possessing a weapon should garner no more attention than someone walking a dog.

Lysander Spooner, of Massachusetts, wrote and delivered to Congress his treatise entitled “No Treason” two years after the Civil War. It explained how our Constitution and Bill of Rights had been severely damaged, if not destroyed, by the North’s invasion of Southern states.

“The principle, on which the war was waged by the North, was simply this: That men may rightfully be compelled to submit to, and support, a government that they do not want; and that resistance, on their part, makes them traitors and criminals.

“…Yet it triumphed in the field, and is now assumed to be established. If it really be established, the number of slaves, instead of having been diminished by the war, has been greatly increased; for a man, thus subjected to a government that he does not want, is a slave.”

Every person born on this planet is governed by natural law and the unalienable right of life, liberty and self preservation.

Dr. White has every right to protect himself, as well as the innocent. When we compromise this law at any level, all suffer.

Imagine this scenario:

Four armed terrorists board a plane where two Federal Air Marshals are incognito. In flight, two terrorists announce a hijacking; the marshals attempt to stop them and are killed along with three innocent passengers. God-fearing passengers exercise their unalienable right of self preservation and natural law. Those carrying weapons engage the terrorist: in the end, all terrorists are dead as well as some innocent passengers.

What did the armed passengers accomplish by exercising their natural and unalienable right of self preservation? They have just prevented the first plane from hitting the World Trade Center in New York.

They sacrificed few to save many.
