Carolinas author has third book in series published

Carolinas author and storyteller Joan Leotta has had another book published, this one set in the Vietnam era and written to encourage young women to see the heroism and honor in the nursing profession, especially in time of war.

This novella, “A Bowl of Rice,” is the third in Leotta’s Legacy of Honor series published by Desert Breeze. All three books in the series, “Giulia Goes to War,” “Letters from Korea” and “A Bowl of Rice” are available on Kindle or Nook in ebook format.

Leotta has been writing and performing since childhood. She is also a freelance writer for The Sun News. Her motto is “encouraging words through pen and performance.” Her award-winning poetry, short stories, books and articles have been published in many journals, magazines and newspapers. She is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
