Power restored in Socastee following morning outage

Power was out for about an hour Tuesday morning for residents living along Socastee Boulevard, according to an online outage report from Horry Electric Cooperative at 6:30 a.m.

A blown fuse caused the outage from 6 to 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to a posting from Horry Electric officials. Repairs were made and power restored.

The outage impacted 1,263 members served by the Socastee substation, according to the online outage site. The outage included those living from U.S. 17 Bypass to Dick Pond Road to Palmetto Pointe Boulevard to near the Intracoastal Waterway. It included subdivisions of Rosewood, Cimmeron Plantation, Watergate and Brandy Mill.
