Georgetown deputies release photo in search of May robbery suspect

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in identifying a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a business in Murrells Inlet, according to a news release.

Deputies were called about 11:30 p.m. May 2 to Not 2 Shabby at 5190 U.S. 17 Bypass after a man came into the business, pointed a gun at the victim and demanded money, according to the release. The man then left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt during the robbery.

On Friday, officials released a surveillance photo of the man wanted for questioning in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the person in the photograph can call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office 546-5101. Anonymous tips can also be sent by using Text-A-Tip. Just dial 274637 from any text enabled cell phone, and text the word “GCSOTIP” followed by your message.
