The Rotary Club of North Myrtle Beach hosted a golf tournament with Hayden Hamilton of Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., in January. The proceeds from this tournament help fund the scholarship program. This year the club was able to provide scholarships to 11 North Myrtle Beach High School seniors. The recipients are Alicia Nicole Davenport, Shannon Riley Cherney, Ellen Louise Johnson, Jordan Brittany Treece, Nicole Page Crowl, Shea Katlyn Hasty, Jaymie Allison Danford, Lukas James Gschwandther, Brianna Marie Knox, Taylor Jordan Evans and Khedene Julian Reid.

In addition to handing out scholarships, Dr. Pamela Benbow shared with the Tuesday Rotary lunch meeting the impact of hearing loss on our outlook and our lives. Hearing loss can be attributed to a number of things, but your hearing can be improved so you don’t miss out. With all the new technology and the use of earbuds, be aware of your volume settings. Our youth, as a result, are showing a loss of hearing at a much younger age.
