OK, enough is enough. After reading about the shootings on Ocean Boulevard during the Atlantic Beach Bikefest, I feel compelled to write this letter.

When are the elected officials of North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach going to get over the fear of offending someone, put their feet down and end this Bikefest?

It is very evident that this group of people will not police their own activity, based on the fact that many were reported standing and watching the fight that started part of this mess.

How many vacationing families with children were subjected to this violence at these motels and could have easily been the victims of a stray bullet? Come on mayors. Get over your fear of the NAACP and their threat of boycott.

Our motels and streets could be filled with good people (black and white) over Memorial Day weekend. Don't you realize that most locals avoid downtown during this weekend?
