Speaker in museum series

Patti Burns, head of adult services at Georgetown County Library, will speak on “The Lost Souls of Georgetown’s Potter’s Field Cemetery,” as part of the “Made in the Shade Concert & Lecture Series.” This is free, but with reservations requested at 546-7706.

Admission $7 ages 13 and older, $3 ages 6-12, and free ages 5 and younger – and additional $3 for tour of adjoining Stewart-Parker House.

Raptors on display

Take an easy escape and see dozens of raptors up close Thursdays-Saturdays, including guided tours at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and flight demonstrations at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Details at 971-7474 or www.thecenterforbirdsofprey.org.

Join Strand Cinema

The Strand Cinema group begins a new weekend of movies: “Gloria,” from 2013, at 2:30 p.m., with subtitles, and “Breathe In” (2013) 7 p.m.; then on Saturday: “A Bottle in the Gaza Sea” (2011) at 2:30 p.m, with subtitles, and “Philomena” (2013) 7 p.m. Details at 527-2924 or www.strandcinema.org.

See ‘Thor’ for free
