PIA in Myrtle Beach now accepts VA benefits

From staff reportJune 4, 2014

Veterans can now use their benefits to cover classes at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in Myrtle Beach.

A number of veterans had contacted PIA in Myrtle Beach about enrolling, but until now could not use their VA benefits, campus director Peg Jackson said. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently approved the Myrtle Beach campus to receive VA benefits.

PIA, which opened in 2012 on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, trains students in aviation maintenance and aviation electronic technologies. The school’s inaugural class graduated in May.

In addition to the Myrtle Beach campus, PIA has locations in Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Ohio, and Hagerstown, Md.
