The North Myrtle Beach City Council Monday night approved the first reading of an annexation petition for 92 acres along Robert Edge Parkway between U.S. 17 and S.C. 31.

Developers want to put a residential subdivision on the land that consists of both single-family homes and multi-family buildings. The site would also include a small area for commercial development as well.

Monday night’s vote also approved zoning for the property as part resort commercial, part resort residential and part mid-rise multifamily residential.
