    To get your local political group's meetings and other events listed, please send an e-mail to sneditors@thesunnews.com with the following information: Name of your local political group, time and date of meeting/event, location/address, topic/purpose, whether it is open to the public, whether it's free or the amount it costs. These announcements are listed each Monday on a space-available basis.

Democrats

•  Horry County Democratic Party will hold its first Thursday happy hour 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Bonefish Grill at 7401 North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. For information contact Subhash Saxena via scsaxen@yahoo.com.

Republicans

• The Myrtle Beach Republican Women will host the Horry County Biennial Elephant Stampede Saturday at the old Horry County Courthouse, 1001 Third Ave. in Conway.

The event will feature stump speeches from Republican candidates participating in the June 10 primary races. There also will be a blue grass band, silent auction and bake sale, face painting, gift bags and a candidate chicken bog contest.

Dinner is provided by Fuddruckers for $10 per person.
