Body with gunshot wound found in the ocean in North Myrtle Beach

A dead body was found Saturday morning around 6 a.m. in the ocean near 29th Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach.

The deceased white male was not wearing any clothes and had a gunshot wound to the head.

North Myrtle Beach public safety officers are under the suspicion that the man, estimated to be in his late forties or early fifties, entered the ocean and committed suicide, according to Pat Dowling, public information officer for North Myrtle Beach. A gun had not been found as of Saturday afternoon.
