Major crimes detectives with the Horry County police department are in Florence Wednesday afternoon, said Lt. Robert Kegler. Florence County authorities reportedly found possible human remains Wednesday.
Authorities have been searching near the Big Pee Dee River since March for Angie Pipkin’s remains. Pipkin, 32, was reported missing in January when she was last seen at a grocery store in Aynor.
Randy Gale Robinson, 46, is charged with murder in connection with Pipkin’s disappearance and is accused of disposing of her body in Darlington County. Robinson, who waived his right to a bond hearing on the murder charge, remains jailed at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
He is also charged with obstruction of justice in connection with the case.
An arrest warrant states Robinson struck Pipkin on Jan. 17, and killed her while at 9608 Sullivan Drive, his home in the Inlet Estates subdivision off S.C. 707.
The warrant further states that Robinson, after killing Pipkin, dismembered her body and disposed of it in Darlington County. Police said witness statements and physical evidence led to Robinson’s arrest.
