A 23-year-old man was assaulted in a parking lot area of Broadway at the Beach early Sunday, according to a police report.

Officers were called about 12:30 a.m. Sunday to 1114 Celebrity Circle and found a man on his back in the roadway with blood on him, police said. EMS took the victim to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Officers watched security video footage of the area and saw a man wave for someone to come into the area and then a vehicle drove up, but it was obscured from the camera, according to the report. Officers saw a man exit the vehicle and then the man went back to the vehicle and drove away. The other man, who waved the vehicle over had stepped out of the camera’s view.

When the man drove away, officers saw the victim in the road, according. The vehicle circles around and comes back to where the victim was laying and sat there for a few minutes before driving away.

The victim told police he didn’t know where he was at when he woke up in the hospital, but doctors told officers that the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to the report. Additional details were not available.
