‘American Idol’ bringing audition bus to Myrtle Beach in July

Are you the next American Idol?

If singing is your thing, you’ll have a chance this summer to prove it to America.

FOX TV’s long-running singing show “American Idol” is bringing its audition bus to Myrtle Beach on July 17. Auditions will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in a location to be announced later.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to roll out the welcome mat for ‘American Idol’ here in the Myrtle Beach area,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, in a press release about the show. “This landmark singing competition has been a part of our national popular culture for more than a decade, and we are excited about the possibility that the next American Idol could be found right here along the Grand Strand.”
