Shooting in Myrtle Beach kills one man

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a shooting Wednesday where one man was killed during an altercation with an acquaintance.

The shooting happened just before 9 a.m. in a shopping center at the corner of 34th Avenue North and Kings Highway.

The owner of Brooklyn Louie’s barber shop had a fight with an acquaintance and a shot was fired, said Capt. David Knipes of Myrtle Beach police.

The victim was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center where Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said he later died. The man’s identity has not been released.

Police have not identified a motive for the shooting. It was not clear late Wednesday what led to the fight.

Knipes said an investigation is ongoing. As of late Wednesday, no charges were filed.

Knipes was not sure if there would be charges.
