One person remained hospitalized early Tuesday following a fire at a single family home in Plantation Pointe hours earlier, according to authorities.

Firefighters from Horry County and Myrtle Beach were called about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday to the home on Lighthouse Way, which is located off of U.S. 17 Bypass near 33rd Avenue North.

Crews found flames coming from the home when they arrived and one person suffered burn injuries during the blaze, said Justin Gibbins, Horry County Fire Rescue assistant chief. It was the third fire of the day for the Horry County firefighter shift working, he said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
