A month of events and activities honor veterans begins this weekend when four Vietnam-era military helicopters will be on display at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
The four helicopters – an H Huey, a Huey Charlie Gunship, an OH-58 and an OH-5 – are owned by the N.C. Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and will arrive in Myrtle Beach and be displayed at the convention center on Saturday and Sunday.
The exhibit is free.
Other Military Appreciation Days events planned include a display of the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall from May 14 to 18 at The Market Common near Crabtree Memorial Gym, a family picnic for military personnel on Ocean Boulevard on May 24 and the Memorial Day Parade, also on May 24, led by Grand Marshal Montel Williams.
