There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms in Myrtle Beach Tuesday, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C.

Forecasters are monitoring the risk of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening where the threat of hail, wind and tornadoes exist. That threat is highest on Wednesday, said Steve Pfaff, meteorologist with the NWS.

Highs on Tuesday are expected to be near 80 with the greatest chance of thunderstorms between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Rain chances taper off in the afternoon and pick back up again at 8 p.m.
