Game recap | Leading by a run entering the ninth inning, the Pelicans collapsed. Reliever Sam Stafford surrendered two runs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Blue Rocks a come-from-behind victory. Wilmington got the game-winning run after a wild pitch by Stafford scored Terrance Gore. Chris Bostick, Jorge Alfaro and Preston Beck had two hits apiece for the Myrtle Beach offense.

Star of the game | Gore – who went 2-for-3 with a game-tying double in the ninth inning.

Friday’s Late Game

Pelicans 5, Keys 3

Game recap | Joey Gallo and Royce Bolinger each went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the Pelicans’ offense on the way to a victory over the Keys. Hanser Alberto and David Lyon also tallied two hits apiece for Myrtle Beach, which took a 5-2 lead after the sixth inning and didn’t look back.

Star of the game | Pelicans’ Victor Payano – who picked up the win after striking out eight batters in five frames.
