A cold front pushing through the region Friday brings a chance of showers to Myrtle Beach Friday, said Steve Pfaff, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C.

Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s, he said.

There is an isolated risk for a severe thunderstorm Friday evening on the coast that could include hail and wind gusts 30 to 40 mph with widely scattered thunderstorms.

The weather is expected to clear for the weekend bringing highs in the upper 70s and mostly clear skies.
