A police K9 unit searches for a suspect who reportedly fled during an attempted traffic stop in Myrtle Beach April 24.


An Horry County police K9 unit is searching for a suspect who fled following an attempted traffic stop, authorities said.

Police are at the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel on Frontage Road in Myrtle Beach where the suspect jumped through a first-floor window and fled in an unknown direction, according to officers on the scene.

Sgt. Jeff Benton, with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office, said a sheriff’s deputy is assisting in the search. He did not have specific details about the suspect or the cause for the attempted traffic stop.
