Horry County officials have identified the 22-year-old upstate New York man who died after falling from a balcony at a Myrtle Beach hotel just after midnight Thursday.

Justin Smith died from multiple trauma due to a fall, said Darris Fowler, deputy coroner for Horry County.

Myrtle Beach police have said the investigation is ongoing but foul play is not suspected.

An officer was flagged down by the manager of the Windsurfer Motel at 210 North Ocean Boulevard at 12:05 a.m., according to an incident report.

The victim fell from the seventh floor of the hotel, the report said, and was found on the concrete near the pool.

Fowler said it has not been determined if Smith’s fall was accidental or intentional.
