U.S. 501 reopened after fatal vehicle crash in Conway

Horry County emergency authorities are investigating an early morning fatal vehicle crash on U.S. 501 at Cultra Road and El Bethel Road, according to officials.

All lanes of U.S. 501 at the intersection were reopened by 8:30 a.m. Monday, Conway police Lt. Selena Small said. The crash involved a vehicle and a dump truck and one person was killed.

Terry D. Prince, 48, of Conway was pronounced dead at the scene from trauma he suffered in the crash, Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said.

The crash was reported about 6:15 a.m. Monday on U.S. 501 at the intersection, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol traffic information.

Conway police continue to investigate the crash, Small said.
