A man was shot in the face with a BB gun during a drive by in Myrtle Beach on Saturday night, police said.

According to a Myrtle Beach police report, officers responded to the basketball courts in the 1900 block of South Kings Highway at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night for a reported assault. Officers spoke with a man who told them he was shot in the face by a BB or pellet gun from a moving SUV.

A witness said he and his cousin were playing basketball when a silver late-model Ford Explorer with four people inside approached them. The witness said he heard someone yell something out of the Explorer and saw someone fire a BB or pellet gun several times, hitting his cousin in the face.

The officer said in the report that the shooting could be related to two other incidents, however those incident reports were not available Sunday night.
