Four men charged in Pawleys Island assault, robbery

Georgetown County deputies have charged four men in connection with a robbery that occurred in Pawleys Island earlier this month, according to authorities.

Brandon Charles Greene, 19, of Walterboro; Eugene Ivy Medders, 31, of Hollywood; John Clifton Morris, 41, of Round O; and Zachary Alexander Morris, 21, of Goosecreek, were each charged with third-degree assault by a mob and common law robbery, according to a release from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

The men are being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending bond hearings.

Their arrests came after an investigation into an assault and robbery reported about 11:15 p.m. April 1 by two men, who were in the parking lot of the Islander at 9185 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, authorities said.

The suspects began talking to the two victims and one suspect said he lost his wallet before one of the victim’s was assaulted, according to the release. The other victim came to aid his friend before the suspect ran to a vehicle and left.
