Pelicans 4, Blue Rocks 3

Game recap | Myrtle Beach scored all four of its runs in the first inning, and held on to defeat the Blue Rocks for the second straight day. Victor Payano started the game and went four innings, but didn’t qualify for a win. Cody Edge earned the win in relief, throwing three shutout innings. Keone Kela allowed two runs in the the ninth inning, but stranded the tying run at first to earn his first save of the year.

Star of the game | Edge, who allowed just one hit and no walks in his three innings. He also recorded a strikeout.

Stat of the game | 2 – The number of wins the Pelicans have on the season, and in a row. They took a four-game sweep at the hands of the Salem (Va.) Red Sox, but now have positive momentum.
