Conway woman charged with assault on bicyclist

A Conway woman was charged after a 55-year-old man told police she struck him with a stick while he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk near her, according to a police report.

Gloria Jean Wright, 46, of Conway was charged with first-offense criminal domestic violence in the incident that was reported about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Wright was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 1:20 p.m. Saturday and released on $2,500 bail at 10:54 a.m. Sunday, according to jail records.

In the Conway police report, the victim called police to 191 Ninth Ave., at EME Apartments to report he was struck on his back with a stick while riding his bicycle. The victim and Wright had previously lived together, but have not been together for at least seven years.

The victim had some visible injuries and Wright was found standing on the sidewalk holding a stick about three feet long, according to the report.
