Scheduled construction to close intersection of Pine Island Road and Highway 15 on Wednesday

mprabhu@thesunnews.comApril 7, 2014

Planned construction is expected to close the intersection at Pine Island Road and Highway 15 in Myrtle Beach beginning Wednesday morning.

The S.C. Department of Transportation will close the intersection to install a drainage pipe across Highway 15. The work is being done to prepare for a planned traffic signal at that intersection.

Work originally was scheduled to begin Monday, but DOT postponed the construction due to weather.

Work will begin 6 a.m. Wednesday and is expected to last until nightfall.

Drivers should keep an eye out for detours, which will be posted on both roads.
